Greater Manchester Daily Mile Celebration

Greater Manchester Daily Mile Celebration

On Friday 22nd September we will be celebrating The Greater Manchester Daily Mile. Throughout the day all children will have the opportunity to run around the playground with their class for 15 minutes. At 2:30pm we will have a Daily Mile presentation in the hall for parents and carers followed by a family and staff 15 minute Daily Mile run around the playground after school.

The aim of The Daily Mile is to improve the physical, social, emotional and mental health and well being of our children - regardless of age, ability or personal circumstances.

The Daily Mile is successful because it is simple and free:

  1. It takes place over just 15 minutes, with children averaging a mile a day.
  2. Children run outside in the fresh air - and the weather is a benefit, not a barrier.
  3. There's no set up, tidy up, or equipment needed.
  4. Children run in their uniforms so no kit or changing time is needed.
  5. It's social, non competitive and fun.
  6. It's fully inclusive; every child, whatever their circumstances, age or ability, succeeds at The Daily Mile.
