Values & Ethos

Our School Vision Statement

A place where we nurture, inspire and achieve success for all.

Our School Aims

At Summerville Primary School we believe that children should be happy, challenged and secure.

We aim to inspire our children to become confident independent learners who can achieve their full potential; as we believe learning should be fun, purposeful and challenging.

We aim to equip each child with the skills needed for lifelong learning through interesting and memorable learning opportunities each day.

We have designed our curriculum to enable our children to think creatively and take pride in their achievements.

Our School Values & Ethos

Respect

We treat ourselves, our peers, our community and our environment with respect and ensure it is an environment where the children can enjoy learning and have fun. We work together to achieve and share success.

Challenge

We challenge our children to be creative, positive and independent thinkers who strive to reach their full potential.

Self Belief

We nurture our children's social and emotional skills so that they can be confident in themselves and their decisions.

Excellence

We are committed to acting openly, honestly and ethically. We take responsibility for our decisions, our actions and their consequences.

No Outsiders

We are proud to be a 'No Outsiders' school which teach children about the Equalities Act through story books. The aims of this initiative are:

  • To promote equality of opportunity
  • To teach children about the Equality Act 2010
  • Create a positive culture in the school where all groups of people are welcome
  • To teach children to be comfortable in their own skin while recognising and celebrating difference and diversity in others
  • Reduce vulnerability to radicalisation and extremism
  • Prepare children to contribute to society and life in Britain as they grow up
