Welcome to Summerville

We are proud of our vibrant, diverse and friendly school where children enjoy the exciting range of opportunities and make excellent progress. We are strongly committed to developing all children academically, emotionally and socially. Our expectations are high, both in learning and behaviour.

I am passionate about enabling all children in our local communities to have the very best possible educational opportunities. I have extremely high expectations of all the children, both in terms of their academic achievement and their social and emotional development.

The curriculum we provide at Summerville is tailor made to give all children a thirst for learning, a motivated engagement in school and the best chance of academic success. There is a strong emphasis on developing confidence and skills to be excellent communicators in all situations. The school has a strong sense of community, with nurture and strong relationships at its core.

Summerville score a hat-trick of awards in one week!

As you know, we have been working towards our accreditation to be recognised as an Emotionally Friendly Setting and a School of Sanctuary. We are delighted to announce that, in June, we heard the fantastic news that we have achieved both of these goals! This has been a huge team effort with all of the staff and children involved as well as the parents who have given us feedback to work on along our journey so thank you for your support.

As well as these 2 accolades, we also heard the amazing news that we had been awarded the Outstanding Small School award from Chapter One which is a reading intervention we use in KS1 and Year 3. This award is in recognition of the engagement from both the children and staff which has led to our children making some fantastic progress in their reading.

Well done to the whole team!
