We are proud of our vibrant, diverse and friendly school where children enjoy the exciting range of opportunities and make excellent progress. We are strongly committed to developing all children academically, emotionally and socially. Our expectations are high, both in learning and behaviour.
I am passionate about enabling all children in our local communities to have the very best possible educational opportunities. I have extremely high expectations of all the children, both in terms of their academic achievement and their social and emotional development.
The curriculum we provide at Summerville is tailor made to give all children a thirst for learning, a motivated engagement in school and the best chance of academic success. There is a strong emphasis on developing confidence and skills to be excellent communicators in all situations. The school has a strong sense of community, with nurture and strong relationships at its core.

School of Sanctuary Award
We are currently working towards accreditation to be a School of Sanctuary which means that we will be recognised for our good practice in fostering a sense of welcome and belonging for all. We extend a special welcome to families who have fled their home countries due to danger and are asylum seekers or refugees. We welcome and support new arrivals to Summerville through our New Arrival Ambassadors, our understanding of language acquisition and our celebration and respect for diversity. We stand in solidarity with anyone seeking sanctuary and we are proud to offer sanctuary and a place of belonging in which everyone can thrive and succeed.
